Passion for ICC World Cup Cricket on Postage Stamps also

Good news for cricket and philately aficionados of the India is that postal department will make available souvenir sheet released by the New Zealand Post Commemorate ICC Cricket World Cup-2015, begin on 14 February, 2015.The biggest cricketing event is being co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.Passion for Cricket World Cup is growing around the world. Everyone wants to collects items related to it as souvenirs. To commemorate this occasion, New Zealand Post has brought a souvenir sheet which is being made available in India also.  

Briefing about this Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav, Director Postal Services, Allahabad Region said that based on the theme of ‘14 teams, one champion’, this souvenir sheet of stamps depicts the logo of cricket World Cup and colours of 14 participating nations in the form of cricket ball shaped stamps. We all may have seen Postage Stamps in various shapes, but it will be the first time that postage stamps will be issued in ball shape. Mr. Yadav also said that keeping in view Indian Cricket fans, 2 World Cup victories by India in 1983 and 2011 have been depicted on this stamp. 
Director Postal Services Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav said that this souvenir sheet of 14 Postage Stamps is available for sale for rupees 400. A discount of 20 percent will be provided on pack of five sheets. Mr. Yadav said that these postage stamps are available in all Philatelic Bureaus. In Allahabad Region these stamps are available at Philatelic Bureau at Allahabad Head Post Office and Varanasi Head Post Office situated at Visheswarganj. Mr. Yadav also said that if required these stamps will be also sold from other Post Offices.
